Musical Early Education: From Recorder to (Brass) Band Music

02/01/2026

Teachers, Instruments & Project Costs (Pilot)

Our project goal: Qualified teachers will be provided for the lessons, using age-appropriate materials to foster children's enjoyment of making music. This serves as a preparatory stage for wind band instruction.

Project costs include teaching materials, room expenses (space at the primary school and/or rental from the Catholic sisters), a modest compensation for the teachers, and the purchase of instruments—recorders and possibly also flutes.

Recorder Pilot Project Starting Spring 2026

Due to the high demand for music lessons and the currently limited capacity for wind instrument instruction—currently only about 25 to 30 children can be taught—we plan to offer weekly musical early education for children aged six and up starting in spring 2026.

We particularly want to reach younger children and introduce them early to making music together.

In the context of this pilot project, primary school students will begin playing the soprano recorder in C (mostly plastic). This instrument is particularly well-suited for beginners as it is easy to learn and provides quick success experiences. The pilot project also serves as preparation and testing for the official project launch in 2027.

Music for All – Especially for Girls:

The concept aims to provide children – especially girls – with a solid musical foundation and joy in playing, thereby strengthening their cultural and personal development. Musical early education helps children learn musical basics in a playful way, unfold their creativity, and promote social as well as cognitive skills.
