A MUSIC AND CULTURAL CENTER IS TO BE ESTABLISHED.

Music connects - Sustainable cultural education in Togo

Akosiwa e.V. is a non-profit organization that promotes the establishment and support of a music school integrated into a cultural center in Togo. The project places special emphasis on sustainability, particularly through the creation of a sustainable infrastructure for musical education in the village of Kusuntu. This includes the renovation and transformation of an existing building into a music school that not only provides musical training but also fosters intercultural exchange and strengthens the sense of community. Thus, Kusuntu is reinforced as a vibrant cultural center, promoting the attractiveness and long-term development of the place. Key pillars of sustainability include volunteer commitment, local community involvement, and long-term educational development. Additionally, we collect used wind instruments that find a new life in Togo. Our project connects traditional African music with European brass band traditions and relies on a professional teaching infrastructure.

Akosiwa e.V. - Education, Sustainability, and Job Creation in Togo

These measures promote not only education but also social and cultural sustainability. Akosiwa e.V. pursues practical ecological and social sustainability by enabling education, strengthening the community, and utilizing local resources to achieve lasting impact.

In the long term, the music and cultural center is also intended to create jobs to further strengthen regional development and provide young people with perspectives.
After the initial project phase, which primarily focused on assessing local engagement, our current focus is on the construction of a music school and cultural center. We require financial resources for this construction. For further information, we are happy to be available.
The start of construction for the music and cultural center is planned for 2026.
